This is an absolutely terrible change for mages. Even though it is not a direct nerf to mages, it most certainly is an indirect,and extremely potent one.

Lets take a look at some healer vs mage fights ATM. Assuming top gear and near-perfect play. e.g. Gladiator level Arena players, in an arena situation.

This fight will most commonly arise in 2v2 situations. Healer + DPS vs Mage + DPS. Both 'DPS' die, mage is left to take on the healer.

I'd say that perhaps 20-40% of my games end up with me vs a healer. Sometimes I'm already oom and low hp and die quick, sometimes visa versa, but a fair amount of the time, we both end up at 100% mana and hp at some point after our partners have died.

Heals are literally twice as mana efficient as damaging spells.

Mages can't nuke down a priest with 11,000 hp and 450 resillence. It just isn't gonna happen if the priest isn't a total idiot.
法师不可能秒掉一个有11k血，450韧的牧师。如果这个牧师不是小白，这是跟本不可以发生法师干掉牧师的情况的。
What should the mage attempt to do?
而法师能做的事是什么？
Strategy 1: Nuke (good luck, lol)
策略1：秒杀（运气好，笑笑）
Poly the priest, summon a pet, charge some frostbolts along with well-timed Freezes and ice lances(pet nova) to nuke the priest down, CS a heal and kill the priest before the 8 second silence wears off.
羊到牧师，召宠物，放冰箭冰环冰枪……牧师加血，我们反制，然后在8秒内杀掉牧师。
Pray.
祈祷吧……
Strategy 2: Win the mana fight:
策略2：法力值消耗战
Cast only rank 1 frostbolts (hope for frosbite so you can icelance), and rank 1 novas, use pets, conjured water, and super mana-efficient ice lances to actually run the priest oom before running oom yourself.
只用1级冰箭，祈祷出现冰刺骨吧，那么你就能冰枪了……还有1级冰环，用宠物，做水。然后用冰值把牧师打到oom，在自己被搞得oom之前。
If you're running oom yourself, sheep, run, drink, come back.
如果你oom了，羊掉，跑开，喝水，回来继续。
Pray the priest runs out of stars tears, and that you resist Shadow Word Death when he tries to break your one, semi-good (10 second) poly.
祈祷牧师没带足够的星辰之泪吧……当然羊的时候你还要祈祷抵抗掉暗言术：灭，让你能有10秒的羊脱离战斗喝水。
This strategy only works if the priest spends too much mana trying to kill you (his spell dmg mana efficency is even worse than ours) At this point you can sometimes pull off a 20% hp kill on an oom priest if you've managed to keep your own mana around 30%.
